Tiradentes University (UNIT-SE), through the Research and Extension Board (DPE) and the Group of Research in Communication, Education and Society (GECES/UNIT/CNPq), with the support of the Postgraduate Program in Education – PPED/UNIT – (which offers the Masters and Doctorate in Education, having as one of its research line the Education and Communication), will host the 9th INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON EDUCATION AND COMMUNICATION – SIMEDUC, from October 17 to 19 of 2018, whose theme is: Sociabilities and Deterritorialization of Education in Digital Contexts.
The International Symposium on Education and Communication aims to bring together researchers, teachers, undergraduate and graduate students from Brazil and other countries interested in studies and discussions about the relation between Education and Communication and its consequences in the learning process within non-formal, informal and formal learning spaces, such as school.
It is therefore justified by the relevance of the theme to the challenges that arise from the rapid technological consolidation, which the spatio-temporal notion acquires new contours. In this context, different modes of experiencing time and speed are insinuated, as well as the instantaneousness of social, political and cultural relations. Education suggests the impossibility of remaining in delimited and regulating spaces, ratifying the coexistence of time and space that generates movement – no longer fit in hegemonic patterns – in which flows define not only new spaces of action, not only new times of logic differentiated but above all singular modes of sociability.
The 9th SIMEDUC seeks to give continuity and strengthening the discussions started in 2010 when the first event took place focused on Distance Education and Intelligence Technologies. Since then, the Social Networks, Infoinclusion, Teacher Training, ICT in Education and Creativity and Innovation were some of the topics discussed. Throughout its history, this symposium has promoted the academic and scientific exchange between research groups and national and international universities, promoting in this perspective the strengthening of cooperation in related areas – Education, Communication – and related fields.
The ninth edition has as a challenge to establish a dialogue between Education, Communication and the new digital contexts that inaugurate spaces generators of differentiated sociabilities. In this connection the intention is to bring to the debate the following axes for discussion: Education, Communication and Policies of Information; Distance Education, Training, curriculum, evaluation and public policies; Teaching, creativity, innovation and research; education, research and training practices in cyberculture; Multiliteracy, education and media; Educommunication, practices and teacher training; Education, communication, information, human rights and citizenship; Multimedia Technologies and Content in higher education.
In this perspective the main objective is to reunite a network of researchers and related public intending to discuss and to explore the Sociabilities and Deterritorialization of the Education in Digital Contexts.
